Lake Natron is a salt or alkaline lake located in north Ngorongoro District of Arusha Region in Tanzania. It is in the Gregory Rift, which is the eastern branch of the East African Rift. The lake is within the Lake Natron Basin.

Lake Eyasi is known for The Hadzabe Bushmen who live in this region, as do the Datoga and Mbulu tribes. A visit with the Bushmen is worthwhile and they will graciously show you where and how they live and hunt. They subsist entirely off the bush and by bow and arrow hunting. 

Lake Manyara is famous as the home to the tree climbing Lions. Take this trip to experience the best combination of wildlife safari and cultural tours.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Arusha – Lake Natron

Morning pickup from Arusha, you will drive to Lake Natron. Upon arrival and check in at your camp / lodge, you will indulge in various activities depending on your interest.

At least you can go for 2 activities per day. There are; Birds watching, Ngare sero waterfalls trip, track the footprints of Hominids, climb Mount Ol doinyo Lengai and the visit to the Great Rift Valley.  

After your hectic day, you will retire for dinner and overnight as per arrangements.

Standard Accommodation: Lengai Safari Lodge, all meals included.

Comfort Accommodation: Lake Natron Tented Camp, Moivaro all meals included.

Luxury Accommodation: Lake Natron Halisi Camp (all meals included).

DAY 2: Lake Natron - Lake Manyara National Park

Tree Climbing Lions & Pink Flamingos 

After breakfast from your lodge/camp, you will depart for Lake Manyara. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment, this park is famous for the incredible beauty. You can see many game animals such as buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo and others. 

Ernest Hemingway once called it “The loveliest lake in Africa.” The national park is home to the unique tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara, which you will have the chance to see lounging in the high tree branches.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge on a full board basis (all meals included.

DAY 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Lake Eyasi

Morning after breakfast from your lodge, you will drive to Lake Eyasi. Upon arrival and check in at your camp / lodge, you will indulge in various activities depending on your interest.

At least you can go for 2 activities per day. There are; Birds watching, Hunting with the Bushmen using bow and arrow, canoeing and boating in Lake Eyasi etc.. 

Observing an early morning hunting display, gathering honey, and traditional dance performances are all part of the experience. It is a cultural experience not to be missed, and it all happens against the backdrop of beautiful Lake Eyasi.

After your hectic day, you will retire for dinner and overnight as per arrangements.

Comfort Accommodation:  Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp, all meals included.

Luxury Accommodation:  Ziwani Lodge, all meals included.

DAY 4: Depart Lake Eyasi – Arusha town

After breakfast from your lodge / camp  you will depart Lake Eyasi to Arusha town. 

Alternatively, fly from Arusha to Zanzibar Island (depending on your next destination arrangements).
