Itinerary

DAY 1: Trekking from Marangu Gate - Mandara Hut - Descend to Marangu Gate

Early morning after breakfast from your hotel, your guide will meet and greet you and you will get a quick briefing. With packed lunch boxes, you will drive to Kilimanjaro National Park’s eastern entrance: Marangu Gate (1,860 m).

After the quick formality of acquiring climbing permits and registering with the rescue service, you will start trekking up to Mandara Hut (2,700 m). The trekking route includes passage through the rainforest (where tropical showers are highly probable), so we recommend you to take raincoats.

When you reach the camp, you will be provided with lunch-boxes. After lunch you may take a hike to a beautiful nearby crater. The hike is about 1,5 hours long, after which you will start your descent down to the exit of the park – Marangu gate. Trekking from Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut and descend back: Change in Elevation: Marangu Gate (1,860 m) — Mandara Hut (2,700 m) — Marangu Gate (1,860 m) Hiking distance: 22 km
After descending to Marangu gate, you will drive to your hotel in Moshi town for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: Tour to Materuni waterfalls, Coffee farm, and Hot springs Tour – depart to Arusha

Morning after breakfast from your lodge, you will head to the Materuni Village. Upon your arrival, upon arrival you will take a short but challenging hike to the Materuni Falls where you can enjoy the beautiful views. Following that, you will visit a coffee farm to learn about how coffee is grown, harvested, and processed. Then you will try your hand at roasting and preparing a fresh cup of raw and local coffee.

Once your coffee-making experience has concluded, head to the Materuni village for a local lunch if you wish.

You will then drive to a warm-water spring at Bomang’ombe area, which is one of the best places to swim in the area.
Enjoy your tour, then drive to Arusha town for dinner and overnight at your hotel.
