The Ultimate – Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater & Tarangire
The Tarangire National Park is known as a wonderful birding destination and also features large numbers of game, particularly during the dry season, when the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the area. The landscape is of particular interest too, due to the high number of scenic baobab trees.
Lake Manyara National Park offers a wilderness experience in diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. Apart from a spectacular setting, the park is famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions and the vast elephant herds it was established to protect.
Ngorongoro crater is well-known for its high concentration of wildlife worldwide with its per capita being the highest compared to Serengeti National Park.
Serengeti National park is the home of the Great Migration and may very well be one of the last true natural wonders on planet earth. Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife; over 2 million ungulates, 4000 lions, 1000 leopards, 550 cheetahs and about 500 bird species.

Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL in Arusha at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) – Tarangire National Park

Morning upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), your driver guide will meet and greet you and he will provide you with a safari briefing afterwards, you will drive to Tarangire National park via Arusha town.
Enjoy great views of Mt. Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped Uhuru Peak; while you settle in over dinner have a good rest. Your tour starts with a drive to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them.
Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, and cheetahs, and up to six thousand elephants. A nature walk is also included. You’ll then spend the night in a lodge in the national park.

Standard Accommodation: Tarangire Simba Lodge, all meals included.
Comfort Accommodation: Kichuguu Tented Camp, all meals included.
Luxury Accommodation: Tarangire Tree Tops, all meals included.

DAY 2:Karatu / Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara National Park

The Tree-Climbing Lions of Manyara
Morning after breakfast from your lodge, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment. The park is recognized for its incredible beauty with lush vegetation and tropical forests containing giant fig and mahogany trees.
Many elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras and a variety of antelope inhabit the park as well as monkeys and a large population of hippos. If you are lucky you may see the Manyara Lions, well known for their habit of climbing and lazily resting on the branches of the “Acacia tortilis” tree. The birdlife is also abundant, with flamingos, pelicans, hornbills and plenty of forest species. Afterwards you will drive to Karatu town at your hotel.
Dinner and overnight accommodation at;
Standard Accommodation: Bougainvillea Safari Lodge, all meals included.
Comfort Accommodation: Acacia Farm Lodge, all meals included.
Luxury Accommodation: Gibbs Farm, all meals included.

DAY 3: Lake Manyara / Karatu - Serengeti National Park.

After breakfast from your lodge, with packed lunch boxes, you will drive onto Serengeti National Park with plenty to see on the way! En route you will see grazing zebras, antelopes and giraffes and sometimes some buffalos hiding in the bush.
On your way to Serengeti, you will visit a Masai village between Ngorongoro and the Serengeti National Park. Your visit includes a demonstration of traditional Masai dance, the opportunity to see the day to day workings of a Masai village, and the opportunity to purchase locally made jewelry.
Maasai Boma consists of several houses made of natural materials that are built in a circle to fence in the cattle. Visiting a Boma will give you the chance to see for yourself how the Maasai live. Additionally, you can talk to your hosts who will give you an in–depth understanding of their traditions and customs.
The South Serengeti ecosystem belongs partly to the Serengeti National park and partly to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Ndutu Area). You will start your day 1 game drive into Serengeti National Park.
You will be able to game drive the central Serengeti en route to your camp. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species.
The Migration, consisting of around 2 million animals, is on the move all year round. Depending on the season you may see this impressive phenomenon.

Naturally it also attracts a mass of predators and you may be able to see a band of lionesses gather for a hunt. After your game drive in Serengeti National Park, you will drive to your camp.
Standard Accommodation: Central Serengeti Acacia Camp, all meals included.
Comfort Accommodation: Ole Serai Camp, all meals included.
Luxury Accommodation: Migration Camp, all meals included.

DAY 4: Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park

Endless Plains of the Serengeti
Early start today; for an early morning game drive to see also nocturnal predators returning from hunting and animals waking up in early morning light.
You can take breakfast boxes with you and have a bush breakfast when the sun is up before you visit the interesting documentation center about Serengeti at Seronera. Furthermore, you will go out for the migration game drive for the rest of the day.
There is an optional hot-air balloon safari (not included in the package cost), which will take place in the morning, just as the sun rises. You’ll float in whichever direction the morning winds take you. Your pilot can precisely control the altitude of your balloon; at times he will ascend to 1000′ or more to see the enormity and wonderful panorama of the Serengeti.
After the landing you celebrate with champagne and a full English breakfast prepared and served in the bush in ‘Out of Africa’ style. After breakfast you receive your Serengeti balloon certificate and drive back to your camp or proceed with your day’s activities and game drives around the Serengeti.
(Price for this ballooning is not included in the package, please let me know in advance to book this for you – space is so limited).
Standard Accommodation: Central Serengeti Acacia Camp, all meals included.
Comfort Accommodation: Ole Serai Camp, all meals included.
Luxury Accommodation: Migration Camp, all meals included.

Day 5:Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

Morning after breakfast from your camp, you will depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a wonderful game drive and picnic lunch.
The inside of the crater is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, the Ngorongoro Crater has one of the highest wild animal densities worldwide. Among the species are lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species.
You might expect to see the ‘Big Five’ in one day! You’ll then stay overnight at a lodge inside the crater. Later you will drive to Manyara for dinner and overnight. Accommodation at:

What people say about us
I did the tour with 3 friends. It was a total of 10 days. It was indescribable. Our guide is a great guy, you can tell that he has been doing this job for years. He was able to show us all the animals. Lions, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, even the rare cheetahs and leopards. If you have never been on safari, you should not miss this experience. We felt very comfortable the whole time. The lodges including service, equipment and service were also first class. Hence 5 stars.
