The Tarangire National Park is known as a wonderful birding destination and also features large numbers of game, particularly during the dry season, when the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the area. The landscape is of particular interest too, due to the high number of scenic baobab trees.

Ngorongoro crater is well-known for its high concentration of wildlife worldwide with its per capita being the highest compared to Serengeti National Park. 

Serengeti National park is the home of the Great Migration and may very well be one of the last true natural wonders on planet earth. Serengeti is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife: over 2 million ungulates, 4000 lions, 1000 leopards, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species inhabit an area close to 15,000 square kilometers in size.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) – Tarangire National Park

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), your driver guide will meet and greet you all, followed by your safari trip briefing. Afterwards, you will start on your way to Tarangire National Park.  Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. 

 

Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, and cheetahs, and up to six thousand elephants. After your game drive, You’ll then retire your day for dinner and overnight at your lodge / camp accordingly.

DAY 2:Karatu - Serengeti National Park.

After breakfast from your lodge / camp, with packed lunch boxes, you will drive onto Serengeti National Park with plenty to see on the way! En route you will see grazing zebras, antelopes and giraffes and sometimes some buffalos hiding in the bush. 

On your way to Serengeti, you will visit a Masai village between Ngorongoro and the Serengeti National Park. Your visit includes a demonstration of traditional Masai dance, the opportunity to see the day to day workings of a Masai village, and the opportunity to purchase locally made jewelry.

Maasai Boma consists of several houses made of natural materials that are built in a circle to fence in the cattle. Visiting a Boma will give you the chance to see for yourself how the Maasai live. Additionally, you can talk to your hosts who will give you an in–depth understanding of their traditions and customs.

The South Serengeti ecosystem belongs partly to the Serengeti National park and partly to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Ndutu Area). You will start your day 1 game drive into Serengeti National Park. 

You will be able to game drive the central Serengeti en route to your camp. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species. 

The Migration, consisting of around 2 million animals, is on the move all year round. Depending on the season you may see this impressive phenomenon. 

 

Naturally it also attracts a mass of predators and you may be able to see a band of lionesses gather for a hunt. After your game drive in Serengeti National Park, you will drive to your camp.

DAY 3:Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park

Endless Plains of the Serengeti 

Early start today;  for an early morning game drive to see also nocturnal  predators returning from hunting and animals waking up in early morning light. 

You can take breakfast boxes with you and have a bush breakfast when the sun is up before you visit the interesting documentation center about Serengeti at Seronera. Furthermore, you will go out for the migration game drive for the rest of the day. 

There is an optional hot-air balloon safari (not included in the package cost), which will take place in the morning, just as the sun rises. You’ll float in whichever direction the morning winds take you. Your pilot can precisely control the altitude of your balloon; at times he will ascend to 1000′ or more to see the enormity and wonderful panorama of the Serengeti. 

After the landing you celebrate with champagne and a full English breakfast prepared and served in the bush in ‘Out of Africa’ style. After breakfast you receive your Serengeti balloon certificate and drive back to your camp or proceed with your day’s activities and game drives around the Serengeti.

DAY 4: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

Morning after breakfast from your camp, you will depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a wonderful game drive and picnic lunch.

The inside of the crater is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, the Ngorongoro Crater has one of the highest wild animal densities worldwide. Among the species are lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. 

You might expect to see the ‘Big Five’ in one day! You’ll then stay overnight at a lodge inside the crater. Later you will drive to Manyara for dinner and overnight. Accommodation at:
